Duel Times is a hobby project that I created to help my kids review the times tables they were studying in the first grades of elementary school.

It’s a simple game where you have to fight animals enchanted by a dark mage. However, there is no violence in the game, as the ‘fight’ is just a quiz about the times tables. The player has to choose the correct result from the 3 proposed options before the rival animal does.
The further you progress through the levels, the more the difficulty of the questions increases, and the time to respond becomes shorter. The difficulty level is calibrated so that, in order to win, you need to know all the times tables from 1 to 10 well.
The game is available for free at the URL https://msec.it/duel-times and should work, more or less, on all devices and browsers. On some devices and browsers, the game will also offer the option to install it as an app, making it always available on the device and playable in fullscreen.
Technically, the game is released as open source and it’s available on Github. In the README file you can find additional details about the project and how it was developed.
All the artistic resources (images and music) in this game were created using generative AI tools. For more information, check the README in the GitHub repository.
